Growing up

Graham is doing really well in physical therapy. He has been scooting for a few weeks now. He can scoot all the way across the room and back. If he isn't scooting then he is standing. He loves to stand at the coffee table and play with toys or stand at a little toy table that my Aunt Julia loaned us. He is really close to being able to pull up on his own. Since Graham is scooting, the physical therapist has switched her focus from crawling to standing and walking, which I am thrilled about. She wants to focus on what he is interested in doing to get him mobile and independent and although crawling is a beneficial step in development she isn't going to insist on it. Yay!

I finally feel like he is growing up. We have had a "baby" for so long. Most people say that their baby is growing up so fast, as though they wish things would slow down. But they don't really wish for that. Carrying your son into stores and restaurants in the car seat until he is 11 months old or watching him be constantly frustrated because he wants a toy he can see but can't get to is difficult. But I have enjoyed all the books He will sit in my lap and read! Anyway, we are praising the Lord for his progress.

Matts family including Robin and Noah (from Boston) came for a visit this past weekend.

Scooting

Graham (16 months) has recently started scooting on his bottom. He is thrilled that he can move a little and loves being on the smooth kitchen floor. He is chasing the dog and has made it to the dog's water bowl twice. A little taste of what it will be like once he is truly mobile! Scooting is not such a good thing for his development because we want him to crawl, not scoot. But at least he is interested in moving! Here are a couple videos of the happy scooter:

Snow!

It snowed twice recently and Graham got to have his first experience in the snow. He got this great snow suit for Christmas, and although its a little big it kept him warm and dry. Matt was in Alabama for the big 4 inches of snow, but I took Graham for a couple sled rides. He likes to move so he enjoyed it, bouncing every time I stopped because he wanted to keep going. Jet also loves the snow and got a few smiles out of Graham. Here are the pictures of our adventures in the snow.
